Why the USA is called the USA?

The Former name of the United States is” United Colonies”. One of the US Founding Father Richard Henry Lee opened a motion in the Second Continental Congress for’ independence from Great Britain in on July 2, 1776, which declared the establishment of a new country of United Colonies independent from the British Empire. On September 9, 1776, a congressional declaration Removed Colonies from the name became “The United States ” as a Reflection of Independence.
