, Bangladesh’s share is more than 70% World market, which makes Bangladesh the largest exporter of jute fiber in the world. Bangladesh is able to supply the highest quality of jute fiber in the world. Almost 85% of the world’s jute cultivation is concentrated in the Ganges Delta, In 1900-1, the export value of jute manufactures accounted for nearly a third of the entire export trade of Bengal .

Jute had been produced in Bengal since ancient times, but prior to 1855, the fiber was locally used by the handloom weavers to make twines, ropes, and coarse fabrics. Bangladeshi jute is traditionally being used in both packagings of food-grade materials and industrial product. it also used for shopping bags, promotional bags, and geo-textiles. As the demand for natural fibre blends increases, the demand for jute and other natural fibres that can be blended with cotton is expected to increase.
